Evaluation Question 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

The thriller opening scene represents social groups as it represents football fans preparing for a football game and fight. That was the groups ambition to try and portray the build up to a football fight between two groups. The idea with the two groups at the start of the clip is to show why they are meeting with the rest of the clip. I think this definitely represents football casuals who do this on a regular basis, I think the buildup makes the clip more of a thriller rather than actually staging the fight itself. I think this makes the clip more relatable with social groups in society in which they can get more engrossed in the clip.I think the clothing helped enforce the hooligan illustration as all the characters at the start we're in black to not give away their identities and so they go un-noticed which is very relatable to real life situations. The location of the clip reinforces the social group of sports hooliganism as it's a dark location so the characters would remaining unseen when having a brawl. It's also a rather intimidating setting for both groups as the area is deserted. The costumes in the clip represent the sports hooligan social group as they are wearing dark clothes to remain unseen when fighting so they aren't caught by anyone. The social group that the product is directed at doesn't necessarily have to be involved in sport, they may just have an addiction to violence in general. The image below is from the movie 'Football Factory', we tried to use their characters from the film as an inspiration for ours. They wear a certain type of clothing that is branded casual gear. It's clear that they mean to look intimidating and do not like they would take any nonsense from anyone.
